UFC president Dana White confirmed both Henderson's signing and the fight's booking to 5thRound.com after Tuesday's UFC on FOX press conference in Hollywood, California.

UFC 139 was once scheduled to host the UFC heavyweight championship, but after that bout was moved up a week to the UFC on FOX headliner, Dan Henderson and Shogun will now be the Main event at UFC 139.

Former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz (25-7 MMA, 6-4 UFC), handed the biggest opportunity of his career, no-showed a pair of pre-event press conferences and was pulled from a UFC 137 fight with UFC titleholder Georges St-Pierre (22-2 MMA, 16-2 UFC).

NICK DIAZ: "I'm not trying to make all these little excuses, If I'd have known the fight was going to be off, I would have [expletive] gone to the press conference, or I would have told somebody, 'Hey, if I don't make it to this stupid [expletive], I'm not fighting.' I think that people would have gotten me there. I think people would have come and gave two [expletive] and gotten me to that press conference."

Fedor Emelianenko vs Jeff Monson possible for an M-1 event in Russia on November 12

In a Tweet by  UFC heavyweight vet, Jeff Monson says he's "confirmed" to face Fedor Emelianenko at an M-1 event on Nov. 12 in Russia.

Last Friday, M-1 announced Fedor would fight late fall in Russa, but didn't reveal any further details. Messages left with M-1 seeking confirmation of the heavyweight tilt were unreturned as of Wednesday morning.

My attorney is taking care of business and making sure things are straight and that I’m home where I need to be so I can provide. [The UFC] could have given me a little more respect. I got out of jail and tried calling them, but no one picked up the phone or returned my calls. I felt like people were just avoiding me, so I gave up. Dana White needs to man up and pick up a phone. UFC isn’t the only thing out there. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to fight out East in Asia. I’m hoping something like that can happen down the line. I’m going to keep my options open."
