UFC vet Brian Foster signs with Bellator

Brian Foster is headed to Bellator Fighting Championships.

Officials today announced the signing, thought terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Although he was in the midst of a 3-1 run in the organization, the UFC surprisingly released Foster earlier this year. The hard-hitting fighter was medically released after a pre-fight medical examine revealed a brain hemorrhage. Foster was cleared shortly after, but the UFC didn't re-sign him.

Former UFC champ Vitor Belfort has agreed to face Anthony Johnson at UFC 142 which will take place in Brazil on January.

ESPN's Jon Anik joins UFC broadcasting team

UFC president Dana White today announced that the veteran broadcaster, who's been the longtime host and anchor of the weekly "MMA Live" show on ESPN2, has joined the UFC broadcasting team.

Anik will commentate UFC Fight Night and The Ultimate Fighter Finale events on FX, and he'll also call the action for the live "TUF" episodes that begin airing on the cable station in 2012.

Andreas Kraniotakes Out of ProElite 2 Main Event Against Tim Slyvia

Just 10 days after main event heavyweight Pedro Rizzo had to pull out of his fight against former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia with an injury, Rizzo's replacement, Andreas Kraniotakes  , now also is off the card.

Sources close to ProElite on Wednesday told MMA Fighting that Kraniotakes' fighter license was not approved by the Illinois State Professional Boxing Board, which oversees MMA in the state. That leaves ProElite scrambling for a replacement to fight Sylvia on what will be less than 10 days notice for ProElite 2 at the iWireless Center in Moline, Ill., on Nov. 5.

Bobby Lashley vs Dave Huckaba set for Shark Fights 21 on Nov. 11 at Fair Park Coliseum in Lubbock, Texas

Lashley (6-1) has agreed to fight Dave Huckaba (16-4) at Shark Fights 21 for the promotion's heavyweight title. Contracts are expected to be finalized shortly. Champ Darrill Schoonover, who recently withdrew from the event, is expected to relinquish his belt.

Shark Fights 21 takes place Nov. 11 at Fair Park Coliseum in Lubbock, Texas. The event airs via delay on FUEL TV on Dec. 23

UFC president Dana White confirmed both Henderson's signing and the fight's booking to 5thRound.com after Tuesday's UFC on FOX press conference in Hollywood, California.

UFC 139 was once scheduled to host the UFC heavyweight championship, but after that bout was moved up a week to the UFC on FOX headliner, Dan Henderson and Shogun will now be the Main event at UFC 139.

Former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz (25-7 MMA, 6-4 UFC), handed the biggest opportunity of his career, no-showed a pair of pre-event press conferences and was pulled from a UFC 137 fight with UFC titleholder Georges St-Pierre (22-2 MMA, 16-2 UFC).

NICK DIAZ: "I'm not trying to make all these little excuses, If I'd have known the fight was going to be off, I would have [expletive] gone to the press conference, or I would have told somebody, 'Hey, if I don't make it to this stupid [expletive], I'm not fighting.' I think that people would have gotten me there. I think people would have come and gave two [expletive] and gotten me to that press conference."

Dan Henderson hoping to fight for both Strikeforce and UFC

DAN HENDERSON: "I definitely feel like there's still a possibility for me to defend that belt in Strikeforce,"  But I think now that the UFC has bought Strikeforce, they need to make money off me, and I need to make money, so we'll see what happens.

"But I'd like to work out a deal where I'm fighting in both promotions."
